Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

These terms govern your use of Study Medicine ("the platform"), a free, curriculum-aligned learning tool for medical students. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

Educational use only, not medical advice

The platform is a study aid for medical trainees. Its content is for education and self-assessment only. It is not medical advice and must not be used to diagnose, treat, or make decisions about the care of any patient. Always defer to your curriculum, supervising clinicians, and authoritative primary sources. Never rely on the platform in a clinical setting.

AI-generated content

Much of the practice content, including questions, explanations, and summaries, is generated with the assistance of AI from lecture material and reference texts. It has not been individually reviewed by a clinician. It may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. Verify anything you intend to rely on against official, current sources.

Acceptable use

Research participation

The platform also supports approved education research under an institutional research ethics protocol. Completing the onboarding survey is the consent action for that research. You can download a copy of your data or withdraw from research use at any time under Settings, then Your data. See the Privacy Policy for how your data is collected, used, stored, and protected.

Intellectual property

The platform, its original content, and its software are the property of the platform's creators and are protected by applicable law. Reference material remains the property of its respective owners and is used for educational purposes. These terms grant you a personal, revocable, non-transferable license to use the platform for your own study; they do not transfer any ownership to you.

No warranty

The platform is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. Your use of the platform and reliance on its content is at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the platform's creators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the platform. Because the platform is provided free of charge, its creators' total liability is limited to the maximum extent the law allows.

Changes and termination

We may update these terms or the platform from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. We may suspend or end access to the platform, or to any account that violates these terms, at any time.
